All of my work, be it performance, sculpture, fiber art or installation, is about movement.
The movement of seeing, listening, mending a fence, sweeping out a shop, walking the dog, looking both ways, slowly rolling across the floor, the movement of living in our bodies.
— all of it, plus my endless curiosity about time, space and relationship, influences my art making endeavors.
I find that I am more interested in questions than answers. Each bit of work I make is unique, asymmetrical, imbued with gesture and occasional moments of humor. My years as a dancer are ever present as I design, abandon, calculate, skew, thread, tie, hammer, weave and unweave. Every arrangement is temporary. The materials I work with satisfy my tactile and kinesthetic senses. I choose them because of how they feel, how they move. My aim is to spark kinesthetic curiosity.
